Upcoming Events: MLK Weekend and Black History Month

There will be a lot of activities coming up soon to honor Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and next month for Black History Month. If there is something I miss, please use the comment form or email me (kristinekjohnson at hotmail dot com) and I will send it out.

Saturday, Jan. 19th, Second Baptist Church (Boulder): 9-11 am
Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., 5300 Baseline Rd., Boulder, CO 80303

Monday, Jan. 21st, Silver Creek High School (Longmont): 9-noon, Honoring the Life and Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Keynote speaker Dr. Almella Starks-Umoja, the daughter of one of Dr. King’s key strategists for the Memphis Sanitation Strive in 1968, 4901 Nelson Rd., Longmont, CO 80503, sponsored by the MLK Committee of the Longmont Multicultural Action Committee

Sunday, Feb. 17th, Second Baptist Church (Boulder): Black History Month Celebration–featuring a celebration of the contributions of famous African Americans to building and sustaining the United States–immediately following the 11 am service; 5300 Baseline Rd., Boulder, CO 80303

Wednesday, Feb. 27th, Front Range Community College (Longmont): 9 pm, Black History Month Celebration–to celebrate the many contributions which African Americans have made to the building and sustaining of this country; FRCC, 2190 Miller Drive, Entrance 4, Community Room, Longmont, CO 80501
